In this our second episode in the opponent highlight series we are focussing on FC LUGANO from Switzerland. Joining Kaan Bayazit this time is Swiss football expert Oliver Zesiger, Oliver works as a sports-coordinator for FC Biel in Switerzland and works as a professional scout. He has been contributing to the Football Manager player database for years and is also a regional manager for transfermarkt.
As in our previous episode we highlight the strengths of Beşiktaş' opponents in the UEFA Europa Conference League, their coach, playing style and their key players. As do we go over the clubs recent European history and domestic performance.

Hans is veteran fan of Club Brugge, the dominating force in belgian football over the past decade, and he has been following his team around on their European adventures with, as of recording this episode, 69 European away fixtures under his belt!
In this episode we focus briefly on our European opponents' recent form in the Belgian league and European endeavors and Hans shines his light on Club Brugge's key players, coach and playing style. The Black Eagles have qualified for the UEFA Europa Conferance League group stages following a 1-0 win at the Beşiktaş stadium against Dynamo Kyiv, thanks to a wonder goal from Vincent Aboubakar.

Beşiktaş came away with an emphatic late victory against Dynamo Kyiv on Thursday in Bucharest, thanks to a wonderfully crafted goal by debutant Bakhtiyor Zaynutdinov in the 4th minute of stoppage time.
Kaan goes over the highlights of the game and shares some injury updates on Masuaku, Ghezzal and Semih aswell as briefly previewing the game on Thursday and sharing some overall thoughts on the team.
Andrew Todos (@ZoryaLondonsk on X) also sends in his thoughts on the game, how he felt Dynamo did and what he expect of the return leg on Thursday.

Beşiktaş are back in Europe this Thursday for a crucial away game in the UEFA Conference League play-offs against Dynamo Kyiv, to be played in Bucharest (Romania).
The Black Eagles have a rich history against the Ukrainian giants, as they will meet for an unprecedented 11th and 12th time in the next two weeks.
Kaan goes over said history between Beşiktaş and Dynamo Kyiv in some detail and gives some recent updates regarding the fixture changes in the Süper Lig.
As is tradition on the Black Eagles podcast, we have invited a special expert analyst to preview the big European games, today we are joined by Andrew Todos (@ZoryaLondonsk on Twitter) who is a recurring guest, having previously contributed to the podcast re: Alex Teixeira in the Summer of 2021 when the Brazilian first arrived. Andrew is an expert when it comes to Ukrainian football and gives us his insights in to Dynamo Kyiv's current situation aswell as giving us his predictions.

Beşiktaş dropped two valuable points last night against Pendikspor in their first home game of the 2023-2024 Süper Lig season in controversial fashion, thanks to a late VAR awarded penalty while a seemingly clean second goal got ruled out earlier in the game.

Beşiktaş have started the 2023-2024 Süper Lig season off with a narrow victory away at Fatih Karagümrük and have signed two new players! The first is the 30-year old English International and former Arsenal and Liverpool midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and the second is the 27-year old right winger and Kosovo International Milot Rashica!

It's been a long time since we've last spoken... let's catch up on some Beşiktaş talk!
The club is currently going through a tumultuous summer and fans are up in arms with the lack of urgency the board has shown during this transfer window. Despite that, the club have completed several signings already with Ante Rebic, Daniel Amartey, Jean Onana and Oxlade-Chamberlain and are expected to complete the signigns of CSKA Moscow's Bakhtiyor Zaytundinov and possibly Arsenal's Nicolas Pépé in the upcoming days.
So there's plenty to talk about! Let's catch up!
