Sinan and Kaan look back at Beşiktaş' matches in the league with Istanbulspor and cup with Konyaspor, both 2-0 wins.

They preview the big derby against Galatasaray on Sunday and have a closer look at how the cup's table is shaping up as both Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray make an early exit.

272. The Black Eagles podcast (February 21st, 2024) - A round-up of Beşiktaş' recent games in the league and cup, Semih is on fire and Muçi and Al-Musrati give Beşiktaş a huge boost!

An extra long episode as we have a lot of ground to cover on Beşiktaş' recent results against Trabzonspor, Antalyaspor (cup), Kayserispor and Konyaspor.

Besides the matches, Sinan and Kaan discuss Semih Kiliçsoy's incredible form and meteoric rise, potential future transfer and chances to feature at EURO 2024.

Furthermore they discuss the recent boost to the team with the additions of Ernest Muçi and Almoatesembellah Al-Musrati. Moreover Sinan and Kaan discuss the upcoming game against Istanbulspor, Konyaspor (cup) and Galatasaray.

BONUS EPISODE - Deadline day MADNESS! Ernest Muçi, Ali Al-Musrati and Basar Önal!?

We weren't holding our breath and for a while it looked like the January transfer window would fizzle out and result in disappointment but the Black Eagles have made two big statement transfers on deadline day!

First up Besiktas have signed ERNEST MUCI from Legia Warsaw on a permanent transfer, president Hasan Arat used his connections with the Polish prime minister Duda to get this deal done and personally went over to conclude the negotiations with Legia. Muçi is a 22 year old Albanian international, regarded as a prime talent, he plays primarily as an offensive midfielder but can also play on either wing and as a striker.

Second up Besiktas have loaned SC Braga's Libyan defensive midfielder Ali Al-Musrati. Musrati again is a highly regarded player in the Portuguese league, known for his passing ability alongside his defensive capabilities. He's 27 years old, Besiktas have loaned him with an option to buy.

And of course Besiktas had already signed the Englishman Joe Worrall earlier int he week from Nottingham Forest, the 27 year old English central defender captained Forest for many years and is known as a very combative defender.

Finally Besiktas are also closing in on a deal for FC De Graafschap's 19 year old left winger Basar Önal, again a highly regarded talent from the Dutch second division, Basar holds a Turkish passport alongside his Dutch passport.

Sinan and Kaan look back at Beşiktaş' two most recent games since our last episode, against Pendikspor (4-0 loss) and Adana Demirspor (0-0 draw).

They highlight the deficincies of the squad int heir opinion and talk about the need for new players, adress certain rumors such as Nemanja Matic, Caglar Söyüncu and others.

We're back after a month absence (mainly due to Kaan's battle witht he rona) and we have A LOT to talk about! Sinan and Kaan discuss the following topics in this extra long episode:

• Riza Calimbay sacked following 1-3 home defeat against Alanyaspor
• Serdar Topraktepe takes over as caretaker which coincides with Semih Kiliçsoy's meteoric rise (5 goals & 2 assists in 4 starts).
• FERNANDO SANTOS takes over as the new head coach and starts off with two convincing wins, one in the league over Fatih Karagümrük (3-0) and one int he Turkish cup against 1. Lig leaders Eyüpspor (4-0)

268. The Black Eagles podcast (November 18th, 2023) - Burak Yilmaz resigns after back-to-back losses, Riza Çalımbay takes over and are you #TeamARAT or #TeamADALI?

It's been two weeks since we last spoke! So it's time to recap the past 2,5 weeks int he world of the Black Eagles.

Beşiktaş were unceremoniously eliminated from the UEFA Conference league following a 1-2 loss against Bodo/Glimt and to add insult to injury were beaten on the following weekend in Antalya, despite taking the lead just before halftime. Burak Yilmaz resigned after these two results and Rıza Çalımbay stept up to the plate to ferry Beşiktaş back to shore. Ante Rebic steals the show in Riza's debut match as new head coach (vs Basaksehir).

267. The Black Eagles podcast (October 31st, 2023) - FK Bodø/Glimt and Gaziantep FK post-match reactions

Sinan and Kaan are back with a brand new episode following the matches in the Cofnerence League against Bodø/Glimt and Gaziantep FK in the Süper Lig.

The Black Eagles suffered yet another disappointing defeat in Europe and are now in a position where they'll have to beat the Norweghian side next week if they want any chance at advancing out of the groups. In the league Beşiktaş faired better as they managed to beat Gaziantep at home thanks to goals from Salih Uçan and Cenk Tosun.
